About us
In 1993 two friendly philatelists from Bolzano drove to the stamp fair in Sindelfingen. During the trip they talked about the possibility to take over the old-established stamp shop "Monster", named after the Dutch dealer, which means "sample without value".
After careful consideration, they agreed to take over the business under the leadership of Dr. Günther Filippi and won a third philatelist as a partner.
On 17.1.1995 the business was reopened with the name "Briefmarken-Monster GMBH" on 12 m² in the heart of Bolzano / South Tyrol.
In the beginning, the main focus was on the joy of philately and contacts to like-minded people, as none of the partners was dependent on income from trading activities.
But it soon became clear that the Trentino / South Tyrol catchment area was too small for the planned trading activities and from 1996 onwards the company took part in the most important philatelic fairs at home and abroad. For 20 years now collectors in Italy have been meeting us regularly during the Veronafil, Milanofil, Romafil, the fairs in Piacenza, Modena, Bologna, Genoa; abroad we can be found at the philatelic events in Vienna, Gmunden, Sindelfingen, Essen.
In 1997 the stamp monsters were entrusted with the exclusive representation of the renowned accessory company "Schaubek" from Leipzig for the Italian-speaking area.
In 2004 Kurt Cologna and Dr. Michael Stauder joined the company full-time.
One year later the shop was moved to Goethe Strasse and expanded to 80 m².
Kurt Cologna and Dr. Michael Stauder founded the auction house "Viennafil-Auktionen" in Vienna in Auerspergstrasse 2 in 2006 in order to be closer to the German-speaking and Eastern European market.
Already in 2008 Viennafil Auctions was appointed as official auctioneer for the world exhibition "WIPA 2008" in Vienna.
In 2010, the purchase of new office space near the Bolzano Exhibition Centre of over 130 m² at a traffic junction in Bolzano that is easily accessible for customers took place.
